Hello from Cincinnati
« on: April 26, 2009, 10:15:40 PM »
I've been lurking for a week or so, time to say Hello.

Just bought a '72 CB750K2 a few weeks ago, and been toiling away at getting it cleaned up, and putting the front end back to stock. The P.O. gave it the chopper treatment, with extended forks, extended side stand, and high rise bars.
So far, I've rebuilt the forks, changed the notched stem bearings for some "Allballs" roller bearings, recovered some of the wiring with fresh shrink wrap, and polished the lower fork tubes. Monday, I pick up a speedometer cable of the correct length.
If all goes well, Ill have it on the road by the end of the week.

Welcome.  I'm from Cincy (Northern KY) myself, but now live 100 miles down the road in Louisville now.  I bought a 550 this past winter and this site has been invaluable to getting it working right.  One thing you'll find on this site, if you haven't already, is that Western Hills Honda over the the West side of town is well known for carrying parts for these old bikes.

The PO of mine did the same thing.  I just finished rebuilding the stock length spare forks I got for mine and will hopefully get them mounted soon.  :)  Crazy guys.  Welcome!
