1969 Honda CB750 Remake?
« on: April 27, 2009, 07:24:47 PM »
I was talking to a guy today that rebuilds CB's.  He said something about Honda talking about rolling out a remake of the '69 CB750.  I looked it up and there were several articles about it but they are now 2 years old.

Is there still any buzz about this?  I know Triumph has a pretty cool Bonneville and Scrambler remake.  Pretty sweet looking.

It's been floating around for a while but I don't think anybody's seen any proof that it's actually going to be made.

from what i've heard, honda has no intention of building this motorcycle. i guess theyre fine with harley clones and donorcycles.

the modern hondas have been nothing but disappointing.

has anyone been on their (u.s.) site? something like four bikes offered. as said before hd rip off and plastic belly button bikes. go to the other guys and at least there's a bit more "choice". can't vouch for new honda quality, etc...

jerks.

i think moto guzzi still plans on bringing that classic v7 (?) here. plus, triumph and even ducati.

Ya they do.  A buddy of mine was gonna get one but you never know what color or how long it will be before they send your random colored bike over. Instead he got a used EV11 that we picked up tonight not a bad bike.

IF i ever buy a new bike it will be a BMW twin. i got to ride a buttload of the things when i worked for bmw, worked an a few too, very few problems with these motorcycles. only recurring problem i used to see was a bad rear drive seal and bmw took care of that even if the bike was out of warranty

The Guzzi V7 is very true to the original while incorporating nre technology.  It  is  sweet .  I think Royal Enfield is out Harlying harly on the nostalgia thing.  Still too slow for many people, but... wait- now I'm confused about which brand I was talking about.

I suspect most SOHC  750 lovers would hate any reproduction.  Just like the new Bonneviles, it would have some styling cues, but be a lot bigger and heavier.  Honda was Soichiro's company.  He had an outstanding run.

I did like the Valkyrie.  Cruiser look without your feet stuck way out in front of you, and not a V-twin.

I'd be quite pleased if Honda offered these in the 'States. Standards without trying to be too 'retro'... hate that word.

You Euro's got it made.

I bought a 96 VF750CD V4 Magna used with average to low milage(9600) last june. I have to say that it is a great bike other than no kick start and no center stand. I put a aftermarket center stand on bu don't think I can do much about the kick starter. Power and performance are off the chart for a 750 four. I was even interested in Honda's new Fury which I believe is the first production factory built chopper. But I still L O V E my 750 K4.

I wanted to get a 90s magna too. but then I would like a v4 also! I do not know if honda offers it but the dealer we have here is both honda and yamaha and the yammy could be gotten with raised bars so you sit more upright. It was actually fairly nice to sit on.

You'll want to stick to the late 90's magna. There are a few for sale on some of the web sites like ebay and cycle trader. The magna's V4 750cc engine is a strong performer taking on the Valkyrie and cbx even. I saw one like mine few weeks ago that had less mileage and was going for only $3800 which is a steal. Bike is running about 5.5 lbs per horsepower. I am very happy with mine so far.

In '88 I almost got a new YELLOW Magna. Bright that yellow was.  :D

I thought it looked so cool, a bit better than the one following it- not that those were shabby.

Probably woulda hurt my self on it though.
