I bought a Honda Harmony this spring with the self-propelled part not working. No problem, I think. It is the transmission (an impressive gadget for a lawn mower) and I got it to work for maybe 5 minutes.  I got to tear it down again, but I WILL fix it.

Does anyone still make a 2-cycle mower? I have always loved the lawn boy engines, but the one I have now may be the last. I pulled it out of a dumpster, got it running, and have used it for about four years.

I have read the opinion that the best mower has a Honda engine but on another deck.  The plastic deck on the Harmony 215 has a lot of fatigue cracks and will not last much longer.  The cables all have worn places and have cut grooves in the deck.  It is lightweight - about the same weight as the lawn boy - and the Honda engine purrs.

i'm pretty much happy with my troy-bilt push mower and lawn tractor. theyre both briggs engined. last mower i had was a toro also with a briggs motor, it lasted my dad 10 years before he gave it to me, then it lasted another 10 years before the oil consumption started to get ahead of fuel  :D
