Not quite, car alternators have the windings inside the rotating mass which is designed to have some residual magnetism so it will Self Exite if in good order, CB750 dont

true true... I'd bet it would still work because of the "primer" magnet you'd have to add to begin the process... funny now I think about it, the wind guys should be using motorcycle alternators! no brushes!
