Wow, several new members here, including myself
« on: October 30, 2005, 06:18:23 AM »
Just noticed since I joined here, there has been serveral more to join the group as well.

Are the love of these SOHC growing, or is it like when you get a new car, then just start noticing more of them on the road because your looking now because you own one.

There were 3000-ish members on the old board - some to go yet...

Honda made over a million SOHC4 bikes - how many are still out there??

What was the old board name you refer to? How long ago? Sorry for the newbie questions, just was curious. BTW very impressed with the knowledge and references this site has to offer. Thanks!!

Kinda sad... in a city of 90k, I've only seen one other SOHC in Murfreesboro.  :(

I have not seen any yet. Well maybe I was not looking until a couple of week ago when I brought one back to the stable.

Most I see are the HD's, some sport bikes, and  a very few dual-sports. Includeding mine and some of me rideng buds.

I still have a passion for these "back-in -the-day" thing. After a few hrs revisting the past, they stil make you smile it just seems like it takes a little more arse to ride then the newer machines.

Why thank you. One of the few places I have not been. I do a lot of traveling fer me job.

Now when you say pocket rockets, do you mean sport bike. I had a pocket rocket(bad flash backs) That little thing hurt me good. It stood, well I am thinking less then 24" high. Now sport bikes, well,,, I am one one of them as well. Do have a dual-sport too. I guess I am just your run of the mill all around rider.

After todays ride, I can see this 30 yr old machine is going to see a few more yrs in my stables. They are a hoot to ride. BTW, the looks you get.  :)

Nice ride. I own one just like it. You'll get lots of stop light conversation from all walks of life. I think there's more of these around than we think. They're parked in the back of garages/sheds/barns and under tarps. But you already knew that, eh? This sight is probably one of the best for sohc4s. It's members are excellent and the knowlege and information here is priceless. Good luck with the k5.

Welcome all newbies.
I have a 1974, 1975 complete runners, and parts to 1978,1979,1981, sold 1981 last year.
So that's 5, only a few 100,000 more to account for. Will keep looking.

Hadn't noticed too many in the last 10 years or so, but this summer alone there were 5 on the road and 4 in the local auto seller. I had to pass up a K0 as I had made a deal for a K2 and a K5 for the same money.
