Very old video, been around for a while. The guy is Brock Davidson, of Brock's Performance, has many drag racing records. The video is very controversial. Some think he lost his hand but its very easy to find current pictures of Brock smiling with both hands. Also, its most likely that the explosion was a backfire of the nitrous system which blew part of the fairing/airbox/gas tank onto the track infront of him.

Not a piston into chest. Still pretty impressive, scary looking.

PS: Nope I was right. About 1/4 of the way down on the left is the finishing shot to that video. Nitrous explosion, not a piston. 2nd such mishap in 1999 for Brock.

No problem. And nothing personal. Just trying for the straight scoop.

There is another one going around YouTube that Eric Clapton wrote and played Classical Gas. The arguments get fierce and wicked. Fact is Mason Williams wrote it in the 60s and won several Grammys.

Still the Clapton fans won't have it.
