Author Topic: Stop peeing on my bike, b*tches! Grrrr dogs... (Read 10032 times)

So I have my cb550 locked and covered on a street in Manhattan, and of course a lot of people with dogs don't really pay attention to where they pee, I know I never do when I'm walking a dog.

Anyway, I finally lost it. I saw a little kid on lollerblades cruse by with a huge dog which proceeded to pee ALL OVER the front of the cover. I didn't say anything, figuring there will be 100 other dogs, and I don't want him to screw with my bike at night.

What I do want to do is put something by the pole the bike is locked to to repel dogs. I don't know if it has to be blood (from fertilizer mulch) or negative bacon, or some sound that dogs hate wired into the battery. But whatever the heck it is going to be, I want to know now.

Please, please let me know what I can do to get rid of these dogs and their fragrant pee which dampens the cover and makes me cringe when I remove it.

Sorry Man but I laughed out loud when I read this...but I do feel for ya!

Maybe you could rig up an electried fence feed (not the whole fende) and when the dog pees on it he gets a jolt to the nads! That might scare him off!!

Other wise I hear wolf urine can scare them off...

Chili powder in the grass kinda makes them walk away and think twice before 'leaving a message', they get a snoutful of that when they check to see if another dog has marked...

Doesn't sound like you have that luxury though!

I was going to suggest red pepper flakes. That works until it rains.

Of course, a bigger dog would also work.

Im sure you could get some type of dog repellant at the pet store, and just spray it on your cover

the last dog that pee'd on my bike got kicked in the ribbs with my steal toe boots

It's not the #$%*es that pee like that...

If your bike is chained to a pole on a public street there isn't a whole lot you can do, and since it's public property you could actually get in trouble putting out something as innocuous as chili pepper (won't someone think of the children who are dumb enough to possibly ingest it -- there will be at least 1). I would either see if there's somewhere else you can park it away from whiz alley or get a cover that goes right down to the ground and is ~~water~~piss proof.

Might try texan's suggestion and see if you can get some kind of repellant to spray on it, but being outdoors exposed to wind, sun, and rain, it won't last long if at all.

the fence charger deal really does work. neighbors dog peeing on the weld draglites on my mustang, making an unholy mess out of the polish on them. i set up a 50 mile stallion charger and put the thin high tensile steel wires around the tires and waited. we heard a LOUD yelp then the bellow from the dog as it went back up the street. guy couldnt even make the dog walk PAST the car after that.

Never peed on one but did grab one as a kid when my sister used to ride....between that and getting thrown at age 7 or so I figured F'it I will stick with Horsepower rather than actual horses!!! Sorry Fuzzy I know they are dear to your heart but just not my cup of tea...oh yeah I can't stand tea either!

ah, i havent been on one since i got my neck broken by getting thrown 2 years ago. dont know if i ever will again. the more time that passes the less likely it becomes though.

Well here's a different approach for you to consider. Instead of trying to discourage the dog from getting that close to your bike, why not encourage (lure) the dog away with something tasty, rather weather resist and dirt cheap too. Dump some bacon grease on the opposite side of the sidewalk from your bike. Rain won't easily wash it away, and dogs can't resist it. They'll all want to walk on the other side if the sidewalk and completely ignore your bike. You may need to reapply every week or so, but it'll probably get you in less trouble than a rifle and a pile of bullet ridden dog carcasses potentially could.
