I've never thought of handpainting a frame before.  I might do this.  How bad does this interlux stuff smell?  Would I be able to do it in my apartment with ventilation?

I'll let you know when I pop the cap.  Probably not tonight, because of the rain.  Comments on another board noted that it has noxious fumes and recommended a mask with charcoal filters.
You can't make too much popcorn, but you can definately eat too much popcorn.

In that case, looks like I'll have to rebuild my "paint booth" out on the balcony.   :P

As a teen my friends father bought a 1923 Fire Engine. When he had the pump restorered the fellow said it would have been hand painted. It seemed before spray technology the painter would put down a layer of color with a brush and then level it with some thinner ans a brush. It was the deepest color I have ever seen.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

This is a very interesting post! I'm at the "dreading the paint decision" point in my '77 F rebuild. My past experience with painters is they are late & expensive, but have yielded good results. I've been tossing around the idea of spray painting the bodywork myself -  I have a large compressor & a decent gravity feed gun, and I've had some sucess with a spray bomb. I did some research at the local auto paint supply house & walked away more convinced I didn't want to attempt it. All they want to talk about is bc/cc. I thought about shooting the old acrylic enamel stuff, but this sounds like it might be even better. I think I might try the one part poly with a roller/brush.
