Gordon and I spent the afternoon tuning my 73 CB350f.
... a good day in itself!
the bike has been running somewhat poorly for a while now, but not terribly bothersome as 3 cylinders still ran like a bat outa hell!
#2 was dead at lower RPMs and idle was non existent. I'm used to keeping things running at idle.
started w/ the battery because a good charge can solve a lot of problems.
then, onto the stock air filter... quite dirty... it presently remains off of the bike.
at that point it was running a little better but hard starting nonetheless.
yanked the carbs and idle jet circuits needed help.
carbs are fun and not fun we decided... a sort of love hate relationship... get past the grunt work and reach enlightenment sort of thing.
it ran and idled better... but we weren't done... w/ the new addition to the garage (thank you cb650
) of a timing light... we properly timed the dyna S.
seat of the pants tells me we just gained 8-10 horsepower (yes, I'm fully aware this is a lot for a cb350f)...
the last time Baby and I ton'd up was 2 years ago at the annual "old bike ride"... I think we may just do it again this year.
stay tuned... gordon may have some pictures to add
