1st ride of year, lost sidecover
« on: May 01, 2009, 08:53:46 PM »
What a way to start the riding season, non? After stopping 53 miles from home, in the picturesque, quaint Vermont town of Woodstock I noticed it was missing.
Good news though, less than 500 feet from my driveway I found it. Scratched, but intack.

peace,
michel

baler twine should hold 'em just fine until your new grommets arrive.

doesn't leave a gooey residue like duct tape.

Those are really good ideas. I need to remember those.

I also like the pin.  To stay completely stock, I have been brushing a small amount of liquid tape on each tab at the beginning of each year.  This works on numerous models where you can't easily insert a pin or safety wire.  Liquid tape is sold at marine stores and even comes in colors.

New grommets are rumored to work like a charm.

I like the idea, but on my KO & K1 the right side cover has 3 of these little nipple tabs.  I think I would be a bit concerned to drill a hole in this tab since there is not much there to start with.  Anyone else drill on in this set-up?
