I replaced the grips on my CB500 last year when I bought it, as the ones that came with it were trashed. Having never replaced grips before, I bought some of the grip glue, but it takes 24 hours to set up before you can ride. I wanted to ride sooner than that, so I searched the internet. I found two options that were highly suggested, the first being hairspray ( I didn't have any handy at the time) the other being liquid soap. I went with the liquid soap, and it seemed to work pretty well. On hot days my throttle grip would twist a bit, but nothing major. It lasted all this time, but then again I never rode her in the rain, and always had her covered when it rained. Yesterday I rode her in the rain, she sat in the rain, and this morning when I went to leave for work...... what the, why won't she rev when I twist the throttle??? Took a sec, but finally registered that the grip was spinning freely on the throttle tube. Well, fortunately I figured this out before going anywhere and subsequently crashing because my grips fell off

So from this I have decided that soap is a terrible grip glue.
I'm now torn, do I use grip glue, or is hair spray really the way to go? I like the idea of spraying it on and having it stuck in 10 mins, vs the 24 hrs for the grip glue. Whats the verdict guys??
Thanks,
Brandon
