syncing carbs on a 76 CB550K?
« on: May 02, 2009, 10:19:11 AM »
This is the first time I am doing this, and I'm stuck in the middle.

I had synced 1 to 2, and was going to sync 1 to 3. However, the set screw for 3 doesn't want to budge. My question is, are there any non-adjustable carbs on the 76 CB550K??? I don't want to damage the screw by putting more torque behind it.

Thanks in advance!

i was under the impression that the # 2 carb was the set point (in other words thats what your working from) either or 1 of them is set and you work from there.
pretty sure that the 77 cb550 is the #2 not sure about the 76 ...the carbs are differant on the 77  and 78 cb's

Yeah, 3 just won't budge. I would think if there were a fixed carb, they wouldn't put a lock nut on the screw.

No 2 is adjustable on my bike.

Thanks for the comments.

They are all adjustable for that model 550.

Here's a thought, adjust the others using #3 as a the reference carb.
