losing power?
« on: August 19, 2009, 10:01:32 am »
So heres the problem,

I have a 71' 750 w/ a 69' motor. Runs great around town but when i ride for over an hour and try to ride up a mountain pass that is about 3 miles long i have to down shift to 4th and the bikes only moving at 45-50mph rpms are around 4-5k and seems like shes losing power. the motor has never been rebuilt (thinking its time) the bike lives at 9,540 ft above elev. and i ride any where from 5,000 ft elev. to some where around 11,000 ft elev. What do you guys think. Keep rideing till its done and dont ride like MAD MAX \
or any sugestions would be great. Just dont have the $$$ right know for a build.

Thanks Mike,

Perform a leak down test (or have someone do it). You will be able to quickly see (and hear) how well the engine is sealing.
