Yup, it is easier to answer his question than it is to give him some static.  And maybe then he'll stick around.

I see this is your first post Kelly.  Welcome to the board.  There is a ton of info here and in the FAQ section.  Surf the site and I am sure you will like it.  One thing you will find out...we like pics.  As soon as you get a chance attach some pics of that 750 for us.  Again, welcome aboard!!! ;D

Except for the gauge mounts and other small changes, the triple trees are all essentially interchangeable from 69-76, and possibly into 78 as well but I'm not sure about that.  They went a little happy on changing things in the k7 and k8.

Lots of good info floating around about the install process, too.  Use the search page http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?action=search and look for "tapered", that should give you lots of results.

Also do read the FAQs http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?board=11.0, the mods do a great job of distilling things.

Welcome aboard Kelly-s, don't worry they don't bite after a while and show them some pics and they even sit up and beg. :D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Use Teflon Forged Snot Envelopes? I honestly don't see how that's going to help him, although I haven't read the FAQs yet either...

Hey kelly welcome aboard.

I just replaced the bearings on my 78 750K and I used the article that Hush wrote as my bible.
The article is called; "ALL BALLZ tapered steering bearings for non experts." You will find it using the search engine. ;)

PS: What a difference in the handling of the bike....you'll love them bearins'. :D :D
