CB350F or happy wife?
« on: October 29, 2005, 07:39:49 PM »
Well, I need sage advice from here.
I have no job, wife says I should get a job, but a person called saying he has a fully restored 1974? CB350F for sale.
Now, the conundrum: I have a line of credit at the Bank 0f High Interest Rates that would more than cover the
sale price.

Also can hide this bike amoung the other 50, so she would not be able to tell for weeks, maybe months.

Anyone think I should trust in Allah/God/Yahweh to provide the $ to buy the bike? Or can you reccommend any
local banks that will hand over $100's of cash for free.?
Should I contact the millionaire in The Czech Republic I met this summer? (No I don't know how he made his $) ;D

I eagerly await the collective wisdom of you wierdo's.

michel ;)

I`ve got a place kept free behind the hay bales in the barn for just that very reason  ::)
You wouldn`t believe all of the barn finds I find in my own barn when the hay starts to get used up towards the end of winter  ;D

Ah, the Sage Advice rolls in....I would have asked Dear Abbey, but she hates motorcycles
(and probably straight people also).

Hmmm,,,yes I can hide this mc amoung all the others, as they are no longer visible from the  main house. ;D
,cofered with tarps in 3 rows of 20+/-

Garage has 6 mc's in the process of retoration, awaiting parts mostly, and the wife knows them all by heart.
Bummner.

If this mc is in riding condition I am selling my CB750's. They are too big for me. BUT I will keep it for my daily
rider. No for sale if in good condition, the CB350F I currently own is merely a frame, now.

Will post pictures later this week I hope.

Double checked w bank, they said "... just sign here.."

Job? going on 4 years without. No one wants someone over 50 w brains, looks, 3 degrees,
and perfect physique apparently.

Michel, buy the bike. I have a mate in Oregon who buys bikes at yard sales, cleanups etc, and sells them for parts on Ebay and makes enough money to not have to work full time. Turn your 50+ bike "collection" into a business mate, and your wife will be happy, and so will you, because you can then buy any bike you want and she won't bat an eyelid! cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

So... you're a shoo-in for the next opening!?
IMHO- if you're presently managing to carry your weight expense-wise, tell your wife you're getting it.  My experience; waited 'till I was 40 to finally meet a woman nuts enough to be able to get along with me, even though she knew I was a MC nut- and figured out on her own I would never change.  Bikes comes and go, but I'd never try to put one over on my bride.  Besides, she can smell when something's not right. It's uncanny.
If you have to hide it, you're doing the wrong thing.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Who's wife would be ecstatic Jane? Are you saying that ALL wives love 350/4's, or just a certain Mrs Jane Watson? Ha ha, Cheers, Terry. ;D

Get the bike, hide in in among the others. Now you have a few months to either pay down some of the line of credit or get a job in the interim. Or you may just want to drive the new addition until she finds out and then pile on the ole charm.

Actually,......I am looking at buying it for the wife and fix it up for her birthday, Dec. 22, as I gave up trying
to fix the CB400a  once she refused to even sit on it after I told her it was an "automatic".

Her dream bike is a Suzuki Intruder 750 (turncoat!)

Will keep you posted, as the seller never called me back today, like he said he would!

My wife will be happy since she'd like a 350F
Your Wife will be happy you didn't run up debt and stuff yet another bike in the garage
