I NEED a right hand control for a 75 cb750..badly!!
« on: October 29, 2005, 08:20:34 PM »
Here's the gig. I have searched high and low and have not been able to find a right side control for my 1975 CB750. This is the one that has start, lights on/off, and kill switch on it. Every switch I have found yet has no headlight switch. I found one on eBay but I can tell you I am not giving $70+ for one.

Anyone got one???

Thats because the US model aint supposed to have a lights on/off switch on it. Go to www.davidsilverspares.co.uk and ask if he has a UK model one

In the last few months,I have bagged 2 of them on Ebay for around $25 each. The first one didn't have the headlight switch but the second one did.I tried to take the first one apart and the starter button collapsed all overthe garage.I can tell you that they are very fragile.I read a post here a while back about someone that got a starter button switch from Radio Shack that he was able to mack fit into the control.I am going to be more careful taking the new one apart. I want to gut it out, polish it and put it back together.

GTFO! The US model is not supposed to have on the lights on off switch??? I wonder if someone put a UK switch on it? I guess I have to figure this mess out. But none the less I guess I need the UK switch with the on off switch for thw bike. I am really getting sick of starting the bike with the screwdriver.

My all original 1975 CB750F does not have a headlight switch. The starter button has a contact for the headlight (mine is broke).

Maybe your switch is from an earlier model rather than UK or other foreign market. I'm not sure when they removed the switch.
My '72 CB500's have headlight switches.

My 1974 & 1975 have headlight swithes. Does this mean they are worth more $.?
Should the registery have charged me more than 5% of $750?

If you need a unit without the light switch, email me.

Now that I think of it,my original right hand control also had a headlamp on-off switch. When I bought my bike back in 2000,it had no starter button so I hit up a friends bone yard and found one from 350 or some damn thing.I figured the button would fit on my 750.Well... it didn't so I ended up swapping and fitting parts from both controls.I have been running the Frankenstein control for about 3 years now.Downside is no on-off switch or headlamp switch Butt!!!!...I do have the start button. My new control I got on Ebay has everything...start,on-off, & headlamp. This will be a welcome winter project to install.

I'm checking with Silvers to make sure by running numbers just what switch it is supposed to have. I'll get back you if it is not supposed to have a switch. I HATE USING MY SCREWDRIVER. I looked at the solenoid today and apparently from getting the tip of the screwdriver too hot it partly melted through a wire DAMN DAMN DAMN! O well I have parts bikes.
