Today I was running around the lakes and river parkways and all of a sudden the bike totally dies on me. No juice, nothing and I am a longways from home. Did not take my cell phone and the wife is gone for the weekend. I am on my own. I remember a few threads on this same subject and fuses were mentioned. I check them and they all look good. I pop the seat and low and behold the nut that sits in the negative battery post is gone. The bolt that holds the wire terminal in place is still there but it won't hold the wire in place alone. Good luck finding the nut on the road behind me but I try and fail anyhow. It's 4pm on Sunday and the only hardware store close by is closed. So I find a small stick and use it to wedge the wire in place on the battery post. It does not make a good enough connection to use the electric start but using the kick starter it fires up and I make it home.
