Installing Carbs on a CB750K

The clamps that hold my Carbs (1978 CB750K) to the Intake are in rough shape. Has anyone used the Universal fit clamps with any success?

I have used regular hose clamps. A clamp is a clamp as long as it fits and tightens properly. You might have to cut off the excess strap.

The problem is that the hose clamps that you will likely find at auto / hardware suppliers are too wide to fit the grooves on the intake rubbers.  I found a set of Ideal hose clamps on line in the proper width but it took a good bit of searching.

Carpy used to sell real nice ones. I bought a set and like them. They are not listed anymore but you could email him and see if he still has them. Dan

The clamps do not really need to fit the grooves though. the intake rubbers on the engine side seem to be grooved so the lip of the carb pops into them. The clamp just provides extra snugness. I have yet to have my carbs come loose in anyway but then I use the airbox. Maybe if someone is doing stacks or pods, then it might not work as well but then they should be somehow supporting the rear of the carbs anyways.
