The Tee Shirts have arrived:o ::) ;D

We have the Motorcycle and Tee Shirts, The Hurricane has passed through, The planets have come into alignment,
Now all we need is Sam.

Peter

Now here's one I don't have to reply to as I am using his computer. ;D ;D ;D He's stood behind me laughing.

Arrived safe and sound with no signs of Ida, met up with Peter and Ed.
Bike was a little fast on idle but we fixed it.
I met up with Peters wife and we went for a few beers and a great big pizza.
They are all lovley people and it's about time for me to turn in, I've been awake for god knows how long, and I'm sure I'll sleep tonight.
Peter has just shown me a net pad that we will be taking with us so that we can keep in touch.

Sam, in the USA. ;)
Oh boy...the Leg End has arrived. ;) I have to get my Sh-t together now. ;) Give me a call Sam when you have chance

So Sam came in and ran Ida up here. We've had 5" of rain in the past 36 hours or so!
Have a good ride on our bike.  ;D

In respect of the nice ride on your bike, or should I say Tracy's, next time you let me ride it, fix the bloody gas tank, I filled it to the brim and the gas started pissin out the gas guage sender unit >:( >:( >:( lesson learn't, don't overfill Tracy's gas tank cos it leaks ;D ;D ;D

Samerica ;)

hum, not to be insensitive, I am after all a very sensitive fellow, I think your problems stem
from operator malfunction. Tracey never had a problem with that gas tank, need I say more?
Have a good trip and stop over filling your tanks.

Today was great weather wise but as far as fast times from the matic, you're going to have to wait untill Mike Rieck has breathed his magic on it.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
To say it was slow would be an understatment, 18.245 at 75.62mph.
 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D  all my old 175s would run rings round it and the little RS175 would leave it for dead.
What we did get was loads of good pics that we can email to who ever can post them.

Hi Mick, yes the weather is fantastic, Peter is just putting on sun block as I  type at quarter to 8 am.
It would have been to much trouble to remove it as all the wire loom goes through inside compartments in the Vetter and we don't have keys to unlock them. :(

Way to go Sam,it's happening, albeit @ a little sl...............ooooowwwweeeerrrr than we thought,Mike I think initial improvements not to hard, that windj......thing on the front took off .5 to 1 sec.!!Take the bowling balls out of the saddlebag,PO forgot,I think it goes something like this: Once a man named Sam
             Took his bike to Valdosta
             And ran..............
              A little? slower than planned
             The engine a little sick
             It needs Mike Rieck
             The man in white
             Road all night
             Bike not right
             load not light
             But he still didn't redlight!

..

Sam, what route are you taking up to Boston?
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Well done Sam & guys, at least you're out there. Faster times await.

Just make sure the guy on that Gator thing in the background of one pic doesn't challenge you....that might be embarrasing.

Well guy's, we've had big problems with the bike and my plans are going to have to be reorganised.
I'll be renting a van on Monday and driving up to Boston as quick as I can to keep the cost of hiring down to a minimum. It's going to be disappointing missing some of you and a couple of you for a second time. I'll only be stopping at Atlanta and Roanoak before pushing on.
Perhaps the reason it was so sluggish over the quarter and why it has cut out on me twice, the carbs are flooding and gassing up the motor.
Peter offered to clean out the carbs and fit an in-line filter due to us finding a lot of rust in the tank.
The problem didn't come to light until we filled the tank to capacity for the long run from Tampa to Valdosta, about 275 miles.
The extra gas in the tank has probably caused a lot of the rust higher up to come loose and it's anybodies guess as to how much is in there and how much more might come loose.
Even with Perter's kind offer to clean out the carbs, I didn't want to be continuously stopping to clean out the line filter or getting stranded in the middle of nowhere with not a clue where I am if I was to call for assistance.
We have had a real good time dispite the problem and Peter was over the moon at seeing the top fuel bikes in action, know doubt, he will be posting more pictures when he has the time.
We also got to meet Chad Iseley, the guy that inspired me to go down the auto route and while speaking to him we got to meet Big Jay (on here) from APE, sponsor of the Hipo and racing forum.
Peter is leaving in the morning so this will be the last posting from me until I hit another computer.
I am eternally in Peter and Ed's debt for all they have done and also, My stand in crew chief Jack Graham who changed his holiday plans at the last moment to fly across the Atlantic to be with us. He is also staying with me to give me a lift loading the bike into the van, thanks Jack.
After talking with some very knowledgeable people on the subject of CB750 auto's, I'm sure the 2010 Valdosta meeting will be a whole new ball game.
Although it's not yet quite over, I'd like to thank all of you that have offered help, support and encouragement in this addventure into the unknown. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks guy's, I'll post again as soon as I hit a computer.

Regards Sam. ;)

ah shucks, sorry to hear the bike has the rust in the tank problem. Sounds like a good candidate for
Por 15 treatment when you get the time. When you get a chance call, Tracey has a big meal planned
for you when you get here. Need to put some meat on those bones. ;D
