Good luck with your travel plans Sam, but if you can get the tank flushed out and the carbs cleaned i'm sure you will be good to go  ;) cheers Mick.

Come on Sam its only 1000 miles to Boston....instead of singing the very popular song "I will walk 500 miles" by that great Scottish duet the Proclaimers...you can sing your own song " I will ride 1000 miles, ta da ta... da, ta da ta...da....."  ;D ;D

Drinking Tour ends in Boston with the real drinkers  ;D

cheers

Sam, you will be coming through NY on your way. If you should run into some misfortune within 100 miles of me. I will come and get you. Food, shelter, and strong drink will not be an issue.

Thanks Bobby, it's looking like the bike will be shipped and I'll be flying up to Boston.
Hope you are well and in good spirits.

MORE Pictures.

The other 750A racing, Chad Isley.
77 CB750A, a bracket racing legend.
This bike is mostly stock, The rear shocks have been replaced with struts, The engine is bored out and the front end is raked.
Sam can add a little more information.

What can one say about Chad Isley that Peter has not allready said.
Chad is one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet and is an awsome steet ET bracket racer with several bikes in his stable but has been most succesfull on his CB750 automatic winning thousands of dollars with it.
I Have been in touch with Chad for a couple of years now and he has been my inspiration to go down the 750 auto route.
One of Chads mentors Jon Weeks has also joined in my quest to emulate Chads winning ways by providing me with a special torque convertor and carbs for my own auto.
It is hoped that by this time next year, Chad will have a sparring partner on the strips.

Although the auto didn't perform as it should, we at least have a base figure to work from.
While at the strip I managed to meet up with APE owner Big Jay and other forum member HB-1fan and his friend who had traveled up from mid Florida to watch the racing, real nice to meet you guys and I hope that if you can make it again next year, you'll be treated to a better showing.
With the racing over, we were faced with the dilemma of getting the stricken auto to Boston.
We phoned round several van rental companies in the hope of renting a vehicle to get the bike up there but everyone we phoned only had very large vans available on a one way basis.
Stranded, I made a quick call to the nearest member Bill Benton in Atlanta. Bill had to finish his work but was soon on his way to Valdosta (about 235 miles) to pick up my sorry a$$. ;D
We arrived in Atlanta very late at night and after a few hours bench racing, we turned in for the night.
The folowing morning, a quick check of the bike found the carbs to be well and truly blocked with rust. Filling the tank for the 270 mile ride up from Tampa had loosened rust in the higher reaches of the tank that had probably not seen gas before.
We decided to ship the bike up to Boston and look for a flight to get myself up there. (still ongoing)
In the evening, we went for a meal in a very nice restaurant and were joined by members Big Jim (our ace alloy micro welder) and Drew (former owner of calender Girl). We returned to Bills after the very nice meal and after a couple of beers and a few more hours of bench racing, the guys made there way home and a very good night was had by all.
