my status says reviewed. i havent checked to see if they charged my card
Based on my experience of waiting 30 days, it means your order hasn't been shipped because something is out of stock, obsolete or both.
At this place, as far as I can tell, it's just one guy at the dealership running the web order business. His software/website/commerce engine is new and is supposed to send out such a notice or give you the option of cancelling your order, etc. but frankly I think the poor guy must be answering calls all day from people who have ordered stuff that no longer exists.
Someone must have have created some sort of parts catalog engine and sold the e-commerce opportunity to these guys without ever having a sense what parts were what. Bike Bandit has the same interface.
I'd been looking for left and right handlebar switches (repop or OE) for my 73 cb750. Best price I could find for NOS was about $300 each on eBay. Most of the used ones look no better than the cruddy ones I already have. I checked Honda Parts Direct.com and there they were, about $95 each. I ordered them only to find out, of course, they don't exist . . . at least not for that price.
Consider the dealership visited I made today. Wanted two fork seals for the same bike. One guy spent 10 mins looking through microfiche to find the part #, then went to his computer(s) to find out there were eight in Canada. He could overnight them from Toronto for an extra $35. Luckily, another guy checked another computer which said there were 3 in their stock. Took them another 10 minutes to find them. Now imagine a place like this having an internet parts site for older Hondas.
I say unless you can see a picture of it, or someone on the phone or email says they have "it" in stock, figure they don't.
