Topic: 1974 orange factory paint code

My paint supplier - (a ppg shop)  said he could probably mix the factory orange metal flake for me, but I need the paint code.  He said he would then contact his rep at ppg to get the mix info.  So does anybody know the code for 1974 orange metalflake?

Theres no codes........

If you do a search here you'll find the question asked repeatedly about many different colors.

There just doesn't seem to be a reliable reference for the Early Honda Colors.

There actually are codes, but they don't mean anything to anybody, not even paint makers/suppliers.  They were specific to Honda and there is no direct translation to todays standard paint codes. 

The best you can do is find a close match on your own or just buy the paint from vintagehondapaint.com since Don's already done the legwork.

I  found something on advrider that  is close. It's a pearl orange that  has the same highlights as the old honda minus the metal flake

"The color is Chrysler PV6 Sunburst Orange Pearl"

That does look close.  I bet my guy could throw some flake in that and make it work.
