this one was especially appropiate for me today, i spent over an hour on the phone fighting with the wonderful folks at dell.

AQ buddy of mine was on the phone with an ATT guy last month.  Thick Indian accent, but insisted his name was "Mike"! ??? ??? ???

Yeah, you THINK you're on hold, but it takes 20 minutes for the singal to travel all the way thorough that mess of wires.  :D

Maybe all those twists and turns in the wire generate their weird accent, too?

Imagine if a drunk driver were to take out THAT pole?  It would take the utilities 14 weeks to restore the service!  :D

I think if the utilities had any brains, they would just cut everything down, and supply "taps" for everyone to hook up to instead of everyone splicing into the connections, and splicing into the spliced splices.  They have the same kind of problem in South America, where everyone just steals the power.
