King/Queen Seat Remolding

So I've been riding my '73 CB50 around with a freaking king/queen seat.

I've been looking without success for a flat seat that I can ride two up (not cafe) ...

This current seat is making me look fat and I'm a 5'6'' 150lbs dude so its not jiving with my look...

The pan is in GREAT condition... but I'm not sure if shaving it down and getting a cover would be worth it?

that sofa sure looks comfie!  :D

i'd keep it and keep trying to find a parted-out seat pan w/ hinges, and go to work on that one.
that way there are no worries if you eff-up and need to start over w your foam, and you're still riding in the meantime...your magesty  8)

I have a similar seat for my 72 CB350F, I hate it.  One of my resto steps will be getting the hell rid of it and getting a cool flat (normal) seat.

I wonder... there looks like enough foam there to cut it down flat, or nearly flat and narrow like a stocker and put a cheap stock cover on it. The tuff part might be attaching the cover tothe underside. Maybe if you can measure or get measurements from a stock seat to work with you could make an educated decision.  If you cut it, I'd use an electric carving knife like you'd use carving a turkey... and save that old cover for ebay.
