Thanks guys! I found it right away once I knew where to look.
The other day, fighting along with what I suspect to be a dirty pilot circuit (bike only idles begrudgingly, and only if I mess with the idle screw as it heats up), I thought to myself: "Self, why don't you just go and clean that old cab bank that you picked up at the swap meet compulsively, and swap it in there?"
Best laid plans of mice and men, as they say. The bike is a Frankenstein. It's a 76 CB750F with the motor out of a 73K. Now, it was my understanding that the carbs were the ones that came with the motor, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The bodies of the carbs on the bike are stamped 069A, indicating that they came from the original F! The airbox, too is from the original F.
So: my question to the forum (OH SAGE FORUM! PLEASE LEND ME THE BENEFIT OF THINE WISDOM, FOR I AM BUT A HUMBLE HACKER WITH A SET OF METRIC WRENCHES AND DESIRE!), is this: Am I better off cleaning and running the swap meet set of carbs - labeled 657A, likely out of a K closer to my actual engine, or cleaning the ones I have on there?
Jet kit sub question: I ordered a jet kit in the mail, and all of the jets look the same save the jet number stamped on them. I think that they're main jets. If I want to change the pilot jet, do I need to get more jets?
All comments and help are greatly appreciated. Amen.
