Is the frame of a '76K 750 the same as a '72K 750?

I don't think they're exact, but 90% of things should interchange just fine.  Differences between those years are mainly wiring and carb related iirc.

really...........any frame from 1969 to 1978 will take the same motor, 1969-1976 are even closer

Thanks for the input.
My '72 frame was damaged extensively buy a poorly routed battery overflow and the acid ate through the bottom cross member.
So either I strip the frame and try to weld it or, replace the frame completely.
I want to keep it a stock as possible and don't want to have any fitment issues.
The ownership comes with the '76 frame and at a price that is hard to beat.

At some point the hangers for the rear passenger pegs and the exhaust pipes changed, might have been 77. Check that.

I think there were small variations along the way, all critical measurements and compatibility stayed the same 69-76 but there were little changes like the shapes of mounting tabs and gussets, the brake pedal stop, etc.

Keith B,
If you decide to junk the frame I would like to buy the title and the head (steering) tube from you.

thanks, Rick

The damage can probably be fixed but until I strip the bike down , I can;t see it all that well.
I would prefer to keep the '72 title and frame as I want this bike to be as "stock" as possible.
I'll let you know what I do....thanks!
