I have one of those on my 550, though not the chrome version. Works very well, I think a big improvement over stock.

Same.  I also have relocated the brake light switch to used the switch on this unit.

i just put this one on my 550 and it seems to be working. Jay b, quick question, how exactly is this lever supposed to feel because i am not sure i have my brakes completely bled right or if its the old hose expanding when i pull the lever because the brake works better when i pump it to stop as opposed to just pull one time

So is this overkill for a single disc CB 750?

I don't think it is overkill, if i recall from what i have read, but I think I have read that you have to be lighter on the pressure or it can lead to dangerous braking

also how did you guys connect the brake light switch on the mc, are the connectors specific or can they go either way?

I have the stock brake line on my setup, and I've got a VERY solid feel at the lever. No pumping required. Sounds like you still have a little air in the system somewhere. HTH
