i recently got an epiphone les-paul specialII and it didnt come with a pickguard. what i need to know is, is there a pickguard that will fit my guitar? i've heard that the spacing on the pickups can be different between les-paul models. this is a pic of the guitar i have. i have emailed gibson 3 times in the past 2 weeks and havent gotten an answer yet  >:(

A les paul pick guard will not fit that model guitar. The volume knobs location on the guitar in the picture makes it impossible to fit. Compare your guitar with a true les paul with dual volume and tone knobs and you will see what I mean.

i just ordered some self-adhesive 4 ply tortoiseshell pickguard material from guitarpartsresource.com and i'm going to make my own. ought to be pretty cool having something that nobody else is going to have, custom pickguard that is.

Fuzzy, you are correct, there are small differences in the pickguards on LP's. You could probably make one fit but you would have to modify it a little bit {the pickguard}, you would also have to measure the distance between your pickups and measure the plastic pickup surrounds, these all differ, only slightly but they do. I have no pickguard on my gold top and my cherry sunburst, although i think i will put one on the burst.

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

I will definitely leave the pickguard on the custom though, it suits it very nicely..
