Pierce Indian (Sam Pierce-legendary, crusty fellow) was probably the last Indian dealer in the U.S.
I visited the place in south L.A. in the 60's.
At that time it was just a store front.
Their hoard of parts was eventually sold to Starklite Cycle who are still in business.
They told me if I gave them my Indian Chief engine and $350 they would give me
a brand new engine.
Having just paid $250 for the bike (and it ran), I felt that was too steep.
Not to mention the fact that I had no money and was about to be
shipped out to "The Nam".

really cool that you had that machine waiting for you at home.

also, i have to give kudos to anyone holding onto a machine that long. i know how hard it is just to keep one five or so years.
