My first brand spanking new bike

I was looking at either a 1200 Sportster or a Triumph Scrambler last year.both were roughly the same price.shopped around and didn't bother.the 77 550 is still running great so i said f$&k it.
well i went to my local dealer for new tires....low and behold they are selling the 08's at $2,000 less to bring in the 09's,plus they gave me $750.00 in Triumph goodies.
needless to say i canceled the new tires ;D

here she is a few days after i brought her home.


with the single seat and luggage rack and fly screen


and with a set of salt and pepper shakers (awesome sound)


i am returning a set of engine dressers (cheap pieces of #$%*) and getting the tach (you dont get one with the scrambler)

just got it back from its first 800 km service and i must say its a great,fun bike to ride..and it looks great ::)

I only ever bought 1 brand new bike it was a GSXR 1100 J and it was stolen six weeks later, wasn't even run in...... ???

funny you say that Fuzzy....i remembered a post you mentioned that in last year when i was looking at the Triumphs 8)

they just uncrated there last one at that price and the $750 in  goodies...green and silver (not as nice as the red and white ;)) saw it yesterday......GP bikes in Ajax Ontario if anybody is interested.

Wish I had the money and space :)  GP Bikes is close to my office.  Maybe I'll just go and make myself crazy looking at it.

It looks like a great bike. What are the details: displacement, etc.?

Also, does it come with blued exhaust? Just curious.

on any of the bonnieville series Triumphs the pipes turn blue within a few miles.there is so much restriction on these bike to meet emissions.easy fix tho..remove the AI,snorkel to the airbox, add open pipes.
these bikes are over engineered and under tuned..again easily remedied for some cash.but I'm not doing #$%* to it right now (2 years warranty)

Been thinking about one of those for a while. The scrambler sounds so good with its 270 degree crank, and looks sweet. How is it on the highway?, and for general commuting?

Looks great!  Nice score.

Had my first ride on an '08 Bonnie last week.  Dealer lent it to me with less than 400 miles while they did the major service on my Sprint.  I was quite pleased.  Very nice ride.  I assume the Scrambler's ride is essentially the same.

Use it in good health!

the bike handles very well at 140 km on the hwy.for commuting you cant beat it.my understanding is the tires are crap in the wet so i have ordered a set of Meztler Tourances (supposed to kick ass)i was away for a few weeks so i havnt put a lot of km on her just over 2000.
my first new bike so i dont have a lot to compare with other than a Sporster i rented that had 3000 km on her.i love this bike ;D and suggest if you can get one at a good price buy it.

the sound quality on my Blackberry is suspect at best....but i will give it a shot.
its really quiet,to quiet if you ask me.i purchased a set of Emgo cans that sound wicked,but i have to rejet so i dont have them on at the moment.
