I've just aquired a '78 550F that has been sitting in a garage for the past 9 years. A lot of surface rust and some parts need to be replaced, but the bike is complete to include the original exhaust. Engine turns freely, but carbs are stuck and will need complete cleaning/rebuilding. Checked all electrical components and they appear to function at first test.
I'm not new to Fours, have had a 500K in the past and still have a 400F. I'd like to know if the fork stanchions of a 500 will fit the 550. Haven't seen any cross-reference anywhere.
Any input appreciated.
