Took 1/2 day on Friday to start prep and worked till late, was up around 5:30 and working by 6:15 Saturday morning. Couple of friends came over around 10am, one left by noon (scheduling conflict that his wife won) and my dad showed up around 1:30. We worked all day and into the night. Around 8pm a thunderstorm started sounding off in the distance while we were on the roof trying to get the shingles on before the ran hit. Friend holding a flashlight, me feeding shingles, my dad putting the rows down. We ran out of shingles about 15 sqft from the end and called it a night just after 9pm. Nothing like working long hard hours with friends to clear your head of all other worries. Slept like a baby last night, took everyone to breakfast and sent them on with many thanks, then got back to work. Here's the results...
Night before assembly after building the rafters and finishing treating the wood.
After the first day of work...
2nd day's progress...
Tons of work but well worth it. Got a bunch of trim work to do, finish the roof, build the lofts and workbench, finish anchoring the frame, then move everything in. Anyone bored next weekend?
