350F - I think the dealer gooned up my order...
« on: July 21, 2009, 07:39:44 PM »
Well, I have to admit first, I didn't even have a tach oil seal.  That's why it looked completely alien to me.  In the first picture, does that seal go inside my cylinder head cover or does it go on my cable (#15)?

Next, to be sure, those are fork oil seals right?

And then I have part number 91305-MG7-003.  I have no idea what it's for.  I also noticed I have only one seal that goes around the big dowel pins in my head.  No way I would have only ordered one when I need two.

*edit* Argghhh..  they did.  They gave me an o-ring for one of the oil pipes....

Hard to tell from that limited pic, but are you talking about the rubber seal that goes between the valve cover and the cable? If so, it's about 1/4" thick, like a hockey puck with a hole in the center. It can be changed without removing the valve cover, if that answers your question. You put it in the hole that accepts the tach cable and lightly tap it in with a hammer and a deep socket of a similar diameter.

91305-MG7-003 is the left side oil manifold pipe o-ring in the cylinder head....but you already figured that out  :D

I use this parts finder to locate the parts: http://www.westernhillshondayamaha.com/fiche_select.asp

Those larger seals in the bottom pics may be fork seals but they also look like crank seals too. And yeah, the tach seal goes inside the head cover. They're prone to leaking so take yer time putting that one in.

That's what I'm going to do from now on.  Take part numbers and quantites.  Then there's no way possible they could mess it up...
