Petro Canada has a patented process that they call Hydrotrating that refines crude oil to 99.9% purity.
If you mean hydrotreating, it's not a patented process, but it does replace the reactive Oxygen, Sulfur, Nitrogen molecules with less reactive Hydrogen. Basically makes it more chemically stable and less reactive.
Not picking on your spelling, trying to add to the knowledge here.

I've been using regular old Castrol GTX 20W50 and I'm happy.

As far as that Lexus BS goes, I'd say homie had a bad cylinder. Other piston looks fairly clean. Tell we why someone would rebuild an expensive engine then tear it down again to take a picture?! Plus I'd like to think he cleaned things up before putting it back together. Homie must be selling something and thinks everyone's a fool.
In defense of the lexus homie dude, the 2nd pic looks like it might have been taken using a borescope, IOW, the cyl head is installed in that pic.

I used it for years in my XS650 eventually switching to 20w50 as the mileage added up.  Using 10w40 on my low mileage 76F.
