First step is to not be a A-hole yourself..

Sometimes people pick up on attitude, some just project it without saying or doing anything.

The way you look at their bike, or talk about it makes a difference. If you treat them all as equal it is easier to get along.. and it dont hurt to say something positive about someones ride (even if its not your favorite). Or to just show that you know something about their machine, puts you on a more common ground. Hey, you all got to live in the same town, right?.. or work at the same place..

And once they know they can get a rise outa you, they may feed on that

HD EVO sportster in a Norton Featherbed Frame.
Lots of trick tuned parts too!

There are about 5-6 companies producing them right now.
I'm a fan.  I'll eventially pick up a wrecked buell and build sonething sort of hip with it.

My short term goal is to rebuild one of my SR500's like this:

Ohmigosh, an HD thread that I haven't chimed in on yet. Well, here's my chiming. HD may not have made trumpets and pianos, but they did make bowling alleys during the glorious AMF days. Even more interesting is that they made scooters. I have a riding buddy who rides an HD and who restored an HD scooter (Topper) to excellent condition:

The thing is, the owner of the HD store was really p*ss*ed that my friend took a picture of an HD scooter in front of his HD store. The store owner wouldn't even come out to speak to him. I guess HD dog toys are O.K., though. Very cool scooter, though. The scooter was a pile of rust when my friend started in on it.

As far as idiot bikers go, I just try to ignore them, as what was said about not being dragged down to their level of stupidity. Generally, I just laugh at them. After all, you can't make a nitwit not be a nitwit, can you?

How do you all deal with these jerks?

Take your pick:

1. For what it's worth, CB 750 #3 in Greatest Motorcycles Ever (HD #8 or something...).

2. CB first to come with a disk brake.

3. CB first mass produced 4 cylinder.

4. 30+ year old CB 750, 68 hp; new HD 88 in3, 59 hp.

5. Just kick start your bike in front of them (I assume theirs are new and don't have a kicker).

6. Less vibration.

7. Arnold in the Terminator (1984) on a CB.

8. Another video with a bit of CB nostalgia.

I like just about all motorcycles, but there sure are some stuck up people on them sometimes.

How would I handle those jerks...?  I'd probably ask them to tell me something about their bikes and why they prefer them.  Then I'd go from there depending on what they said.  I wouldn't feed their assiness though.  If they can't appreciate/recognize any nice piece of engineering, then it's probably not worth discussing it with them.

i'm really liking that sportster cafe there. best motor harley ever built, most reliable anyways. they have less of a pushrod angle than any of the big twins due to their 4 camshafts.
