Carburetor Gasket Set Question
« on: May 02, 2009, 11:52:54 AM »
I recently rebuilt the carbs on my ’72 750 K2.  I purchased the carburetor gasket set 16010-300-305.  I had a rubber washer left over from every pack.  It’s the smallest one located at the bottom of the picture.  I couldn’t identify it in the parts fiche.  I’m wondering if this gasket set may be universal for a few different models of carbs.  Any help would be appreciated

I think it goes on your drain plug for float bowl.Bill Benton

I saw that same kit.  The drain for the float bowls have a crush washer on the early CB750's.  But the rubber may have been used on newer models.  I have 4 extra ones too.

Thanks guys.  I'm thinking float bowl drain plug as well.  I used the crush washer because that's what was on there when I rebuilt the carbs.  I think I'll put these on eBay now as "NOS Sandcast gaskets" :)

Tried it on the airscrew.  It actually fit, but when I put the screw back into the carb, it wouldn't seat correctly.  So I'm ruling that one out unless someone wiser chimes in.

No washers on the early air screws.

I just rebuilt the carbs on my '78 and there's an o-ring in each kit for the the accel pump.  There's only one accel pump, so 3 of the 4 kits had an extra o-ring.
