  • I have a box. I'm used to being ignored.
A few days ago, I started thinking it was strange that HavocTurbo hadn't been horsing around on the SPBT so, since he has some parts of mine, I started investigating.
I found out he was hit by a drunk driver while sitting still at a stop light.
He was wearing full gear, (thankfully) and while he doesn't have any broken bones, he has some internal bleeding that they were contributing mainly to a rutured spleen.
here's what I posted in the SPBT:
"Talked to Havoc last night. He was on the turbo, Sitting still at a light. Smashed into by a DD, the bike is scrap, somehow he got up over the hood, lower extremeties got smusheled somewhere, some sorta shoulder business going on, brought his collar bone to where he could see it lower and through the skin, ruptured spleen. He had his heavy duty gear on, armor or whatever, helmet etc. He said he couldn't breathe with his helmet on, the paramedics didn't take his glasses off, broke em when they pulled his helmet off.
He seems in decent spirits, all though he attended a funeral for a friend of his a week ago, and then this.
I told him he was in our thoughts and to get better, he'd prolly have a full mailbox by the time he could get on the internet. "
Rather than having to read however many emails, Alltherightpills suggested a thread.
Leave him some love people.
Thanks!
Amber

Sure hate to hear about Havoc's misfortune! :( Crying shame that that had to happen. Sure am glad that the injuries aren't worse and looking forward to the "Return Ig The Turbo" ;) Shame about the bike, but YOU are more important to us! :) I'm praying for a speedy recovery and NO complications! ;)

I'll echo Bill's thoughts. Good for him for wearing gear, but I'm so very sorry that it happened to him. I pray the doctors can mend him all up, and that the worst of his many wounds heal swiftly. The loss of the bike is a crying shame.

Inkscars, do we have a first name for Havoc? I know that God knows who he is, but I find it more personal to remember a name in my prayers. Thanks so very much for checking in on him, and please keep us updated as you can.

Oh, and I hope the driver goes to jail.

Hey Havoc, take care of yourself and give your nurses hell.  'cept the cute ones. ;)

Gonna +1 what Bill said, hope you have a speedy recovery and no complications.  Good thing you were wearing your gear!  Take your time in getting back to your usual trouble-makin and let yourself heal right the first time. :)  Internal bleeding etc can take some time to heal up, so be patient.

It's too bad Bikers Against Drunk Drivers doesn't have a team of hitmen, too.  Sometimes I think the whole world would benefit.

Come back as soon as you can be Shameless, we'll all be waiting (and shameless at that, but don't bother catching up, you know you won't miss anything of any substance)

Hate to hear of a brother going down.  Its bad enough we have to watch out for the sober dirvers while we are moving, let along the drunk ones while we are parked!!

Havoc~what happened sucks!  Sorry bro.
good for you for wearing your gear.  sounds like it could have been worse.  I hope you get the council you need and stick it to that A-hole.

+1 on the Regulation Hospital Gown pic.  Esp. from the back.  Lord knows I need to at least once see a *nice* butt in one of those. ;)

I kid, I kid.  Well, only a little.  Amazing how 4x6' of gauze-thin hospital gown can make you feel more naked than actually BEING naked.

Big hug from me, now that I've woken up a little, Havoc.  I'm not gonna type that 'gentle hug' crap cuz text hugs are as hard as you want 'em. ;D
