Shes standing on her own 2 feet!
« on: May 08, 2009, 06:40:46 PM »
After quite a few months of hard work Ive finally got her on 2 wheels. Hopefully just a few days from a test run. Its a '75 cb750 and here are the mods Ive done during my rebuild

New gasket kit on the top end
Intake polished
Engine and frame repainted
Knee pockets hammered in
Swingarm switched to a '77 for chain clearance
Valve cover polished
Bronze bushings
New wiring harness
Shorty shocks
Gl1000 front end with drilled rotors.
Clubman handlebars turned upside down
16'' front and rear spoke rims (front is still being laced)
160 tire in the rear and 130 tire in the front
Carpy rear fender

Tank is in the process of getting repainted right now. And Im also experimenting on running the spoke rims tubeless. Let me know what you think, and pay no attention to the 4 foot front axle :)

trying to run the spoked wheels tubeless is just looking for trouble. only tubeless spoked wheels i've seen are BMW cycles.

I've heard the 750's decribed as voluptuous.  You may be taking that to the next level.  Keep the 4 foot front axle.  Your third rider will have a place to rest their feet. ;D

Harleys run spoked tubeless wheels, so do a lot of dirt bikers.
I can use the front axle to hang my groceries from.

Looking Good, Burnboy.  Ride her down to B'ham, and we'll drink some beer and ride.  ;D ;D ;D

I want to know how your front ire works out. I want to do a 16 front on my 550 but have been hesitant because i have not seen many as well as buchanons (however you spell it) seems to skrew custom orders up and has a no refund policy. let me know when you figure yours out and what ended up working. I also want to see some pics. Its going to look good.
