repairing the airbox
« on: May 19, 2009, 07:24:41 AM »
Hey guys, the weather's warm now so my seasonal headache (read: '78 cb550k) came back.  In an effort to get the carbs right this season, i'm looking to repair my airbox.  The rubber leads that connect the airbox to the carbs are all cracked up and letting air through.

Any suggestions on what to use in repairing this stuff?  I've got some black silicone but gas gets under this and causes it to fall off after a while.

If they're far gone enough to be cracked, get new ones, or better used ones off of eBay if new ones aren't available.  No sealant is really going to do the job for you.
