Are CB750 Throttle sleeve material
« on: May 15, 2009, 08:58:30 PM »
Hey I've got a 74 CB750 and the throttle sleeve is plastic and has a piece missing at the non cable end (probably will not be an issue). I've got a 71 parts bike that I've been grabbing parts off of when needed, would that have a plastic throttle sleeve as well? Did Honda make a metal throttle sleeve for CB750s?

Thanks
Jud

I dont know if it is an OEM Honda peice, but my 74 750 K had a metal throttle sleeve. I have seen many plastic sleeves, but I have only seen this 1 metal sleeve.

Interesting.  Never seen one of those before.  What did the cable end look like?  Cast attachment points for the cable?

It looked identical to the plastic throttle sleeve(push/pull cables). I think it was cast and then it was machined. It was one peice.

Thats very interesting indeed.  With all that involved it almost has to be something that was commercially made, or someone out there had MAD skills and lots of time on their hands.
