« on: May 17, 2009, 01:50:48 PM »
Howdy-- I am looking at the manual and am trying to figure out how to adjust the clutch on my 1974 cb550, but i am not totally clear on how to adjust the little clutch locknut on the engine case...  Any advice much appreciated.

If it's like my 650 you slacken the wee nut with a size 10 spanner then turn the middle part in with a screw driver until you feel it just touch then back it out about 1/4 turn, then holding the middle screw nice and still you retighten the nut again.
You may need to adjust the slack in your cable too, slacken the cable from the top first then take the slack out from the lower adjuster but leave enough at the top to play with, then back up to the lever end again and adjust that to your own wishes.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
