CB550k 4:4 exhaust coupler rubbers

Hi there - does anyone know a place to buy (or does anyone have) those little rubber tubes that connect the mufflers to each other on a 1976 CB550K? Mine are shot and after taking off and reinstalling the pipes they are trashed and the bike sounds like a rat (not that there is anything necessarily wrong with that...)

Also - the pipes are now misaligned, like even if i had the little tubes it would be some feat to get them to line up again. I was guessing that once I get the new rubbers I'll figure out how to align them :)

Hi rr,

I can't help you for sure on the CB550k; I do know that they are available from Honda for the CB750K.....

Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

You sure they are rubber? Maybe some type of compound, rubber would melt wouldn't it?
You could use old bicycle inner tubes rolled on if rubber was OK, how about exhaust tape, that stuff is heat resistant.
