OK here's the rules, I give you a simple riddle and you solve it you get a chocolate fish!
Of course you do have to come over here to New Zealand at your own expense to collect said fish. :D

Q: What sounds like your exhaust is leaking at the headers but it isn't, appears to be from the top of the head area.
Does not affect the performance of the bike, just adds noise that shouldn't be there?


Disclaimer:
This is in no way a cheap'n quick way for Hush to get others to cure his bikes' problems for free.
Hush's decision will be final and no corresponance will be entered into (unless you have a better idea)

The fuel recollection tube or whatever its called off the back of the valve cover, usually connected by rubber hose to the airbox.

thought i had an exhaust leak in the saturn, drove it like that for 2 months. i hadnt tightened #4 sparkplug when i changed em at 440k  :D

My mechanic found #3 wasn't all the way in when he synced my carbs, partner slipped up there, I'll have to slap her....nah she'd probably like that far too much. :D

Spent 2 hours yesterday tearing off my 4 into 2 pipes/lights/crash bar to replace exhaust gaskets AlanF, that didn't fix it. :D

My first guess would be valve adjustment maybe a touch loose 'n slappy, 2nd guess is something loose externally tapping as the engine idles, like a case guard or cover...

My last guess is an exhaust leak not from the header but at some other juncture within the pipe.

I dunno, but I have the same soft tappy sound, though my valves should all be in good adjustment, and my cam chain, too.
