What is Ben's dad's tag/screenname/forum name?  It will help me better stick with rule #1.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

my dad hardly knows how to do any thing on computers so he does not have a membership
with this forum. So if you have any questions for him you can just ask me or sam.

So, I need to treat this as if it were me.  Here is rule #1;

1.   the SOHC4 motorcycle must be owned by the forum member (we’ll take your word for it)

The K5 I post about is not mine, it is my wifes.  I purchased it for her and I am making it to where she can ride it.  Therefore, I am the builder (just like Sam but no where near as talented).  If the K5 were nominated I could not accept the nomination, the wife would need to accept it as I consider it hers.  She is not a forum member so she could not accept it either.  So it would not make the voting thread in this case.

If the K5 were nominated, she would need to become a member and accept it.  This I would probably ask her to do to make it fair for all SOHC members, the BOTM and follow rule #1.

In your case, you and Sam are not the owners, as much as the both of you would want to be (me too!).  The inheritance is a sweet deal but that is an inhertance not yet an ownership (I believe that is true, I am not a lawyer).

So, if your dad is not a member or does not become a member by voting time for this BOTM, a nomination becomes seconded and accepted, I will not be able to add the bike to the voting thread for February 2009s BOTM.

Sorry, as much as I would of liked to just went with it, I am held by the rules.

Sam, thank you for your post regarding ownership of the bike!

I second the motion. (or is that notion? Whatever..............) ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Wow, guys... well... I need to get my new tank on and get some pics, then.  She looks a heck of a lot better now than she did when those old pics were taken.  Let's see if the weather cooperates tomorrow and lets me take some shots that really do her justice...  ;) oh, and I'll have a place host them where everyone can see this time.

Ok, so this gave me a great excuse to go outside (A break from homework! YES!) and put on my birthday present tank, fire her up and stretch her legs, so to speak.   Here are some pics for a virtual walk-around after our ride b/c I'm too inept to use youtube... :D:

(and without flash, in case it matters)

I miss the flames, too, but they were vinyl decals that didn't 'survive' whatever volatile gasses emanated from the acrylic lacquer I'd used on that tank... (and factor in the myriad of problems I had with that tank from the build thread, the fact I drained gas from it and it had a ton of rust in it STILL even after having been coated ??? it was time to move on up. :)
