I wanted to add some updated pics for the contest .... looks much more finished even without the seat upholstered yet.  Just a couple things about the bike you can't already see.  It was a 100% frame up restoration with most items powdercoated and has a really clean GL1000 front end.  Tank is aluminum and the motor was completely rebuilt with a 850 Cycle X "Git Kit" which includes pistons, valves, cam, rods etc ..... she runs really strong.  Complete Dyna ignition system and coils and Raask rearsets and aluminum clip-ons.  I made my own instrument mount to sneak the tach and speedo together and down as close as I could to the triple clamp.  I refaced the instruments with member dustyc's faces in superhawk style with zero's at 6 O'Clock.  Pipes are cut down stock with welded ends using the endcaps reversed.  I hope to get the seat back completed this week - this was a full project, I touched every component on the bike .... don't tell my wife!

Here are the updated pics!  I hope you like the bike ... Thanks!

I'm just gonna copy/paste here what I wrote on the nomination thread,I got no shiny bike to "sell" here, just a "way of life".......  8) 8) 8)

To all the contestants:best of luck at ya all, your bikes looks absolutely awesome... :o :o :o

okay, this is what I wrote on the nomination thread:

okay,I accept.....all though I would doubt that it would even get one vote..... :-\ :-\ :-\
But just for bragging rights it's cool to follow this.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
who knows,there might be a lonely single soul out there that even likes my bike... :D :D :D ;) ;) ;) ;)

Now how do I win votes on my hand..??? um,you got to appreciate the "hardcore" factor in the bike... ;)
How many suicide shift bikes do we have on this forum???  none, besides mine,as far as I know...that makes this bike unique..... 8) 8)
seen another one with chain link hard tail??? wow, this bike IS really unique... :D :D :D
no springs in seat, hard leather home made..??? well, that tells ya the rider is crazy, noting about the bike.. ;) ;) ;)
this bike get's ridden hard,not polished hard....it's rat and rad,outlaw,dirty,touch and flat black....this is how they liked em in the 50's.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
this bike shows that it's ridden by a REAL  man... ;D ;D ;D
it has character and shows real touch biker life style.....
it stops people everywhere it stands, get's looked at,pictures taken from and discussed more then all the pretty shiny harley bikes in the same parking lot.... 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

now really,tell me...doesn't this video here show how bad ass it looks... ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

let's see if this made it to get at least one vote.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Marti, I want you to know, I like you an awful lot, but guys have said far less and left wearing their drinks on their shirts.

I hate this thread. Martino, you've gotten at least one vote. My hat's off to you for making and riding that chain link hard tail.

OMG Mike that is just sooooo damn georgeous, the colour scheme reminds me of the little SL70 and SL 100 Honda trails we had here in the 70's, what an awesome bike.......shame I gotta vote for Marti, I've seen his rebuild you see and his "rat bike" image is well and truly trashed.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Wow, got some really beautiful bikes up this month.  Too bad they are competing against one another, and we must choose a winner.  Each of these bikes deserves to be BOTM.

I voted for MECs bike simply because I think that frame is outstanding, and I love the styling.  Did anyone else notice that the frame has no cradle, instead using the engine's bottom-end as a stressed member?

Lovely!
