New Member! Great to get started!
« on: May 20, 2009, 10:25:35 PM »
Hi Everyone!

I am looking forward to becoming a member! There is so much information on this site. I don't know where to begin but, I'll figure it out! :) I just joined the owners club with my 1975 CB750 today. I'm in the process of building it into a chopper. I purchased an "All Souls" plunger frame a few years back and I hope to be riding the bike this summer, the build is going well. I'll have to post pictures. I live in the California, Bay Area and look forward to conversing and riding my own design!! (With your help and the help of this site!!)

Thanks! I'll check them out. I just learned how to add a picture of my bike to the post. I'm learning now how to "respond." (I hope...)

Welcome to the fun, Michael! Your bike does seem to be coming along nicely, not to mention the Mach 1 behind it. ;-) Glad to have you.

Welcome Michael.

Lines on the bike look great.  How much clearance do you have on that front fender, though?  Looks really close and you need some clearance for tire growth when traveling at speed.

Thanks eveyone for the comments. The 71 Mach1 is also FUN to drive. :-)

The front fender is only placed on the tire for the picture, I have not fixed the final clearance yet but, thanks so much for the input on the tire growing at speed!!! I had not thought of that. I was planning on about one inch. I have big plans for working on the bike over the week. I'll upload some pictures.

lol that explains it then.  An inch should be plenty, the TV chopper guys use fuel line taped to the tire to set the clearance, that's less than an inch I think.  Enjoy your holiday wrench time, looking forward to your pics.

cheers
