Has anyone ever shipped engines? How did you do it?
What type of carrier?

I've not had experience doing so, but am wondering if you're considering national or international. Airlines are probably the cheapest, but I think gasoline engines are considered hazardous materials now, and there are certain stipulations for sending them via air freight.

UPS will take up to 150 lbs.. more if it goes freight.

Makes sure no oil can leak out or they will repack at 100.00 or more cost >:(

Easiest is to cut down a pallet, and strap down motor to it with wood and reddirod, block it so it does not move around. Not sure if it has to be covered with cargboard or plastic.  Avoid sharp corners.
