#2&3 cyclinders dead

Just a little background info. Thursday I go to get my bike inspected.It starts up fine but within about 3 minutes I lose # 2&3 cyclinders I'm thinking what the heck.I still go for the inspection and she cleared up. Friday I start her up and same thing within 3 minutes. Now it's a 71 750 with dyna ignition and 3 ohm coils. Anyhow what I found out was the battery was low. Since I put a little charge on the battery it's running perfect. My first thought was the dyna,glad it wasn't.

The Dyna gets a bit balky with low voltage so that may be all it is. You may want to add the coil resistor pack Hondaman has produced (or equivalent). This reduces the power draw with 3 ohm coils but apparently maintains spark energy.

kinda thinking the same thing Bodi. I think I'm starting my fourth season with that battery. I must say the starter didn't sound weak or the headlight didn't brighten up with revs. At least now I know of a new symptom of a weak battery.

If the bike starts fine but the ignition cuts out after a few minutes, its hard for me to understand how it could be low voltage from the battery.

Unless of course your charging system isn't working very well, and the voltage is dropping.  What is the voltage at the battery when the bike is running?  Should be around 14v.

I would check your coils and pulse coils. I had the same problem where the two inner cylinders would lose spark after heating up. Checked the Pulse Coils, both were fine when the bike was cold but once it got hot the 2&3 PC had infinity resistance.

pulse coils? are they on the dyna?
