Don't mean to be an old poop, but I often cringe when I see those tiny flashers. If you going to ride it make damn sure they can be seen. I use arm signals too and always check behind that anyone there is aware of my plan. Being safe is cool too.  ;D

I was following a buddy this summer on a Gixxer1000 with some kind of tail light with a dinky signal included. I told him I found the thing hard to distinquish. At one point a 4 wheeler got between us and damn near drove over him when he stopped at an intersection to turn. He wasn't hit but the message was driven home although he didn't change the light.

I 100% agree. These led flashers are much brighter then the bulb flashers i had. i try to strike a balance between looks and and safety. This won't be my daily rider for sure. And when i do ride i will take into account that my blinkers may not be  noticeable to some drivers. What do you want me to do, put some lollipop blinkers on this thing?  :D

Ok Brent You have inspired a review. Dual filament bulb vs LED. I did not test a stock blinker but i imagine it to be similar to the bulb blinker.

From the vid it looks like the LED is brighter ffj.  I think bw's point was just to make sure that what ever you are using can be seen clearly, and let's everyone around know what your doing (turning / braking).

I like the fact you have an ENCO navy chair to sit in while working on the Atomic-aluma racer.

I love that chair! Its so light weight. And just feels right to tig weld aluminum while sitting in an aluminum chair. I would like to get a little bit nicer one and polish it to a mirror finish. Oh and its EMECO.  ;)

Apparently you can still buy them. They are not cheap. Come in Brushed or polished.
As stated above I Like polished.  ;D

Never found my gaskets so i had to buy some more. Got the 2 from dynoman and a full set off ebay. The ebay set looks like its missing the rubber pucks but i have some from other incomplete sets i have. Anything i should know before asembly? Do you put anything on the gaskets? I was just going to put them on dry.

Took the bike apart so i could do some work to the frame. It took a 2 foot pry bar to get the nut on the swing arm bolt to budge. I think im going to take the frame in and have it blasted. So i can see the welds better and clean everything up.

I think i did. I think i measured it all out before i welded on the rear hoop. Here is an old picture, the shocks are pretty stiff and there is a lot of space.

very nice ffj 8) 8)  the guy who did some of the stuff on my 550 must have 16 buffing wheels.  Different sizes, and dedicated to different materials.

Im debating on weather i want to have the parts clear powder coated or just leave them bare. Ill have to talk to the local PC shop and see how much that would cost.

Did some welding on the rear blinker mounts. I decided to do the same thing as the front with the jam nut so i welded a nut to the inside and then boxed it all in, welded it up and then ground it all smooth.

Wow thats coming together nicely! Beautiful tank and fairing, but i'm not a big fan of the digital gauge. I've ridden one for a while and found it hard to read the rpm's especially on sunny days.

Careful, the UV from that welding arc can gonna turn that beer skunky in a matter of minutes.

Still a very good photo and great progress. :)

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

That beer was not around long enough to go skunky. Even with all the uv. ;D
