Wow. I'm surprised. Most of his show bikes (Katana, Ducati, Suzuki Hayabusa Endurance Racer) have never been fired to my knowledge.

I'll admit that the TLR tracker has some trick kit on it, like most of his bikes, including all of the handcrafted aluminum. I'm not crazy about it personally, but it's still a very high end bike.

I think you'll find they have all been ridden or at least started. I looked but could only find a video of him riding the Desmosedici street tracker he built. I've seen a video of him riding the TL in the car park of his business and out onto the main road, if i find it i'll post it up... He also made the aluminum tank and seat on the TL bike, it was his first attempt at doing it himself and is probably the reason its so angular....

Should have posted this earlier.....any bike, or car entered in the GNRS that is to be judged has to start.  If it doesn't you don't get a sticker, and the judges just walk by.  So any of the bikes that Chris has shown have at least been started, if not ridden.

Well, if you've seen it with your own two eyes, then I might be inclined to agree.  I'm just saying that I have NEVER seen any of his showbikes fired and ridden.  In my opinion, the Desmo tracker was not a show bike, insomuch as it was an existing, running Desmo - crashed at the track and rebuilt (more cosmetically) as a tracker, since the original body work was damaged.  I also have not seen Chris in 1.5 years.

I've never seen the Katana (with MotoGP traction control bits not working) fired or run, his Hayabusa endurance racer or his Ducati "Silver Surfer" ever run or fired.  All of these have been to the GNRS.

If he's fired up the new TRL (Schwanz 34) street tracker, good for him.  And good for him putting that English wheel to use.  There are few people that can turn our their first attempt to hand form aluminum into a show quality bike.  It'll also save him some coin and time from having others form his metal (as with the Ducati Silver Surfer). 

The point to Flying J is that my impression is that his bike appears to be built to be ridden, and not just displayed.

Well, hey, that's news to me (if you're talking about the Katana, and NOT the GS1000, which I've ridden).  Now, if only the traction control was operational!

Don't get me wrong.  Chris makes some very trick, good-looking bikes.  He has more talent than many many other builders out there.  I think he really shines in modifying modern bikes with performance upgrades.  He also sells a great, modernized Yosh replica exhaust.

His Katana was really awesome, but this TL is just awful in every regard.  Your bike is one of the nicest I've ever seen.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.
